Steak and Caesar Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of Parmesan; grated
11/4 cups of croutons
3.5 cups of Romaine lettuce; chopped
1/4 cup of Caesar’s dressing
3 slices of plum tomatoes
1 sirloin steak (approximately 6 oz)
2 tbsp margarine, softened
1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning (may increase to 2 tbsp depending on preference)
1/4 cup of blue cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup of bacon, cooked and chopped
Directions:
Put the Romaine lettuce, half of the croutons, and around half of the grated Parmesan in a mixing bowl (large). Toss it with Caesar’s dressing, then let it cool in the fridge.
Meanwhile, prepare the steak. Set up a small temporary outdoor kitchen wth a stove. Make sure that it is a safe area that is sufficiently-ventilated to accommodate cooking over high temperature.
Once the kitchen is set up, place the skillet (made of cast iron) over high heat. Smear some margarine on one side of the sirloin steak, and then add a dash of Cajun flavoring for pizzazz.
Place the steak on the preheated skillet – seasoned side down. Kindly note that a it is likely to have a thin flare upon placing the steak on the skillet.
There’s nothing to worry about, though, since it will eventually subside. As the seasoned side is cooking, apply some margarine on the 2nd side, and then sprinkle w/ Cajun flavoring.
Cook the seasoned side for approximately 2 mins before turning over. This may take longer if you want to have the steak well-done. Afterward, slice into half-inch strips.
To serve, transfer the cooled salad onto a salad bowl. Arrange the steak to form a fan on top of the salad. Add the remaining croutons. Sprinkle w/ chopped bacon, crumbled blue cheese, and Parmesan.
