Cucumber Hungarian Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
2 to 3 cucumbers; chopped
2 tsps of salt
1.5 tsps of sugar
3 Tbsps of cider vinegar
1/4 tsp of paprika
1/2 garlic clove; minced
1/4 tsp of white pepper
4 scallions (green onions); chopped
1 c of sour cream (thick)
1/4 tsp of paprika
Directions:
Cut the cucumbers into thin slices and place it into a bowl. Add a dash of salt, then mix well. Cover it with cling wrap and let it cool inside the fridge for about an hour.
In a separate bowl, combine sugar, vinegar, paprika, garlic, water and white pepper . Whisk well, and then set it aside.
Drain excess water from the cucumber. After which, pour in the vinegar mix, scallions, as well as the sour cream. Toss the salad well, and sprinkle it with paprika. Chill the salad for about an hour or two prior to serving.
