Classic Salad with Spiced Pecans Recipe
Ingredients:
Salad & Dressing Ingredients:
1 head of Romaine lettuce
1 pc of red onion; cut into very thin slices
1/8 c of blue cheese crumbles
2 oz spiced pecans; chopped
4 tsps of raspberry vinaigrette (for every serving)
Spiced Pecan Ingredients:
1/2 c of pecans; chopped
3 tsps of unrefined sugar (dark brown)
1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix the cayenne pepper and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Wash the pecans to moisten. Toss it well with the sugar mix to coat evenly.
Transfer it evenly onto a baking dish (or cookie sheet); and place it in the oven ’til sugar melts. This usually takes about 5-10 minutes. When done, take out the pecans from the oven. Set it aside to cool.
Place the lettuce in a large bowl. Drizzle some vinaigrette over it. Toss well. Top the salad with sliced red onions, followed by crumbled blue cheese and spiced
May be served immediately or chilled for a minimum of one hour prior to serving.
