Cheesy Salad Layers Recipe
Ingredients:
1 iceberg (or Romaine) lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
1 onion; finely chopped
2 c of mayonnaise
1 can of water chestnuts (8 oz)
1 pack of green peas (frozen); or canned equivalent
1 tsp of salt for seasoning
2 tsp of refined sugar (white)
1/4 tsp of garlic (powdered)
1/2 pound of bacon; fried crisp, then crushed
2 pieces of large plum tomatoes, diced
2 pounds of cheddar cheese; shredded or grated
Directions:
Form a bed of iceberg (or Romaine) lettuce, chopped onions, water chestnuts, plus green peas (one after another) on a serving platter (9×13 inches). Set it aside.
Afterward, mix the following together in a medium-sized bowl – mayonnaise, salt, sugar, as well as powdered garlic.
Whisk ’til smooth. Apply a thin layer of dressing over the salad; then cover with cling wrap. Let it cool overnight in the fridge.
Before serving, top it w/ tomato, cheese & bacon.
